Mary Ellen McCoy Scott, 82, died Wednesday (April 4, 2012) at her home in Valley Center.
She was born on July 7, 1929 in Haverhill, Ks., the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Case McCoy. She married Bertrum Scott, Sr. on July 30, 1946.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son James Scott; brothers Charles and Hervey; sisters Hazel, Grayce, Velma and Doris.
Survivors include her children Bertrum & Patsy Scott, Jr., Sharon & Ron Holloway, Beverly & Al Jeffries, Janet & Phil Ashley, Sandra & Lee Ward, Gregory & Teresa Scott; 20 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday (Apr. 7, 2012) at the Valley Center Christian Church. Interment will be in the Walton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening between 4 and 6.
A memorial has been established with the Valley Center Christian Church Building Fund and Johnson University of Knoxville, Tenn., contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114
