Mary Lou Warner

Mary Lou (McMurray) Warner, 91, passed away after a series of illnesses on Monday (June 11, 2012) at Larksfield Place in Wichita.

Mary Lou was born on October 30, 1920, in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Glenn and Zella McMurray. She graduated from Newton High School.

She spent many years in Wichita and Bartlesville, Okla., while her husband was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company. After the death of their son in 1975, they moved to Lawrence, Ks., where she was the first employee of the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. Upon retirement, she and her husband became residents. Mary Lou moved to Wichita last year to be near her son and grandchildren.

She is survived by a son Gregory S. Warner and wife Trisha of Derby, Ks.; two granddaughters Heather L. Webb of Derby, Dawn M. Flower and husband Ted; two great grandchildren Ashton Nguyen and Cheyanna Bercaw; a brother Loren C. McMurray and wife Helen of Phoenix, Az.; one nephew Jeff and two nieces Emily and Lisa.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul E. Warner in 1997; and son Douglas M. Warner.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday (June 15, 2012) at the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

There will be no visitation as cremation has been effected.

A memorial has been established with the Good Samaritan Fund of the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
