Melvin R. Stucky, 87, of Newton, died Tuesday (January 22, 2013) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston, KS.
He was born on the family farm on December 22, 1925 in Moundridge, KS., the son of John D. and OTillie (Schrag) Stucky. Melvin attended schools in Moundridge.
Melvin married Aldene Fern Duerksen on June 22, 1948 in Newton. She died on December 23, 2009.
Melvin was retired from AGCO. He loved gardening and woodworking, along with being an avid K.U. and K.S.U. fan. Melvin was a loving and devoted husband to his Aldene and mostly enjoyed being with his family, especially this grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include son Richard and wife Barbara Stucky of Denver, Colo.; daughter Donna and husband Keith Williams of Colorado Springs, CO.; grandchildren Gregory and wife Dana Jo Williams of Colorado Springs and Laura and husband Trevor Killip of Dallas, TX.; and great grandchildren Annie, Emily and Adalynn Williams, Isaac and Evan Killip; a brother, Leroy and his wife Audrey Stucky of Newton; sister-in-laws, Mary Ellen Stucky, Moundridge and Fern Stucky, CA; many nieces and nephews.
Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday (Jan. 28, 2013) at Koerner Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren in Newton.
Interment will follow at Restlawn Gardens of Memory.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M.until 4:00 P.M.
