Myron Harris

Myron P. Harris, 78, died Saturday (September 29, 2018) at his home in Peabody.

He was born on November 8, 1939 in Newton, Ks., the son of Kermit and Thelma Mellott Harris. Myron was raised in the rural Peabody area and attended schools in Peabody.

He married Barbara “Bobbie” Mott Laramore on October 20, 1982.

Myron farmed in Harvey and Marion Counties for many years and was a welder at Hay and Forage/Agco for 15 years until retiring in 2001.

Survivors include his children Sherri Landis and husband Bob of Lehigh, Ks., Jeanelle Coates and husband Jeremiah of Walton, Ks., Scott Harris and wife Paula of Peabody, Susan Webb and husband Paul of Peabody, Brenda Bartel and husband Scott of Hillsboro, Ks.; step-children Beth Sprague and husband Greg of Peabody, Brad Laramore and wife Kelly of Kansas City, Mo.; 29 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Myron is preceded in death by his parents; wife “Bobbie” on July 28, 2016; brother Dale; two step-children Brenda Cunningham and Bruce Laramore; one step-grandchildren Aaron Laramore; and one great grandson Tristan Talkington.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday (October 3, 2018) at the Peabody Christian Church. Interment will be in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., where the family will receive friends between 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Peabody Christian Church, contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.

Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
