Perry Dean Clevenger, age 63, of Newton, passed away at his residence on February 10, 2024. Perry was born in Wakefield, Nebraska on August 9, 1960 to Robert and Marian (Roberts) Clevenger.
Perry had lived in Newton roughly 10 years. He was a building contractor and skilled carpenter that was known for being a perfectionist. Perry always strived to make his jobs the best that he could do. Prior to Newton he lived in California, where he had a logging operation cutting down redwoods or “really big trees” as he called them. He had also worked as a truck driver and a mechanic.
Perry loved taking his boat out and fishing. He was a great dad and put his children first. He enjoyed bike riding, and fishing with them or just spending time together.
He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Ochoa, Sandra Yang, Marian Clevenger; sons, Leonard Clevenger, Noah Clevenger; grandchildren, Micah Ochoa, Journey Ochoa, baby boy Yang, that is due March 14, 2024; sisters, Phyllis Osborn (Brandon), Linda Gonzales, Donna Cook (Les), and Carol Baker (Ross).
Perry was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert and Marion: and brothers, Alan Clevenger and Ronald Clevenger.
Visitation will be held February 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton, Kansas. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
