Preston M. Tolbert, 27, died October 29, 2010 at Liberal, Kansas.
He was born on October 21, 1983, in Newton, Kansas to Diane K. (Rogers) Tripp and Raymond S. Tolbert.
Preston graduated from Newton High School in 2001. He then went on an attended Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson. Preston was employed at Central States in Salina, Kansas as a fumigator for grain elevators.
He had church membership with Columbus Avenue Church of Christ in Newton, Kansas.
Preston had many hobbies and many friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children, and was an avid sports fanatic. He spent a lot of time following watching the Kansas City Chiefs, Steelers and Raiders football games, and many more. Preston also loved to play softball. He had played on a Wichita team and two teams in the Newton community.
His survivors include, his wife, Jeanna Watson-Tolbert and son, Kembran Tolbert and daughter, McKaelah Watson, Arkansas City, KS; Mother, Diane K. Tripp and husband Matt, Ellsworth, KS; Father, Raymond S. Tolbert, Deborah Kingsley, Newton; brother, Alexander “A.J.” Kingsley and wife LaTiffany, Newton; Sister, Vanessa Shonte’ Armstrong and husband James, Salina, KS; Maternal Grandfather, Gary Rogers and wife Miriam, Victoria, KS; Paternal Grandmother, Anita Tolbert, Wichita, KS; other maternal grandparents, Gary and Leann Kingsley, Newton; Great Grandmother Ena Hanke, Newton, KS; Uncles, Herbert Tolbert II, Newton and Vernon Tolbert, Wichita,KS; Uncle and Aunt, Rick and Chris Rogers, Newton, KS, and more various aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death was a maternal grandmother, Kathlean Hendricks and a paternal grandfather, Herbert Tolbert.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton, Kansas, from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The family will greet friends from 5:00 -7:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 5 , 2010, 10:00 A.M. at the Columbus Avenue Church of Christ.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas
Memorials may be made to the Preston Tolbert Childrens’ Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
