Rhoda M. Crupper Thomas died on October 7, 2008 at the Presbyterian Manor in Newton, Kansas.
She was born on October 25, 1914 in McPherson, Kansas the daughter of David G. and Minnie L. (Anderson) Burk.
On August 29, 1937 Rhoda married Joe F. Crupper in Hutchinson, Kansas. He died September 23, 1966. On July 12, 1969, she married Glen O. Thomas. He died December 19, 1992.
Rhoda was a member of St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Newton, for over 60 years. She had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is survived by 3 sons and their wives; Michael and Becky Crupper, Newton, James and Judith Crupper, Gilbert, AZ, and Phillip and Trudy Crupper, Sugar Land, TX; one brother, Wesley and his wife Nadine, McPherson; 1 step-son,Lee Thomas; one step-daughter, Kay Krueger; 6 grandchildren, Michelle and R. Bruce Daise, Shawnee, KS, Jason and Marie Crupper, Kansas City, MO, Lori and Scott Murray, Mesa, AZ, Todd Crupper, Gilbert, AZ, Jeffrey and Monica Crupper, Clearwater, FL, Angela and Mike Leising, Crosby, TX; 6 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren.
Rhoda was preceded in death by her parents, spouses, 2 brothers, DeLee Burk and Robert Burk, and one sister, Lois Blasiar; step-son, Richard Thomas.
Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2008 from 12 noon to 8:00 P.M. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will Saturday, October 11, 2008, 10:00 A.M., at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Newton. Pastor Paul Wissink will be presiding.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, Harry Hynes Hospice or Presbyterian Manor in care of the funeral home.
