Richard D. Keller died on May 1, 2012 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on October 29, 1932 to Thelma K. (Leckington) and David Keller in Newton, Kansas.
He married Nora Joyce Wilson on July 17, 1972 in Newton, Kansas. She died on October 21, 2005.
Richard served in 4 years in United States Air Force.
Richard worked for Leckington and Sons, Co., then later as a carryout and produce employee for Safeway Grocery, and as a skateboy for tips at the local roller skating rink. Richard was also on the B & B Gang, and worked as a crane operator and fireman for the Santa Fe Railroad and later worked for Guerdon Industries until 1959. Richard then took a position as a maintenance operator for the refinery in El Dorado, Kansas, where he retired after 31 years of service. He also raised cattle on his ranch in El Dorado.
Hobbies included carpentry work and building different crafts, and he loved dancing. Richard taught country dancing for sometime and was a member of the True Lies dance club in El Dorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his spouse, and son Michael D. Keller.
Survivors include 2 sons; Stephen P. Keller, Wichita and Richard “Rick” M. Keller, Kansas City, KS: 1 step-son, Rodney Walford, Garnett, KS; 1 step daughter, Brenda Razor, CA; 1 grandchild and 3 step grandchildren, and many loving and close friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, Kansas.
Visitation will be Friday, May 4, 2012, from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting guests from 5:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M
