Ronald Lawrence Berner, age 91, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on February 7, 2023 surrounded by his family. Ron was born on July 21, 1931 in Walton, Kansas to Lawrence and Vera Davis Berner.
Ron served in the United States Navy from January 1951 to November 1954, receiving an Honorable Discharge. He worked in the aircraft industry, retiring in 1996. His work varied but mainly consisted of painting airplane wings, leading to his passion of restoring vehicles.
Ron is survived by his brother; Neal Berner of Silverton, Oregon, sons; Terry (JoAnn) Berner of Lawrence, Kansas, Brian Berner of Reeds Spring, Missouri, Alan (Carla) Berner of Battle Creek, Michigan, Jimmy Bergeron of Salina, Kansas, daughter; Julie Fishburn of Salina, Kansas; 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 23 great-great grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by Joan Berner Ramsey (divorced) and later married Wanda Bergeron Berner whom he shared 27 years of marriage before her passing in March 1991; brothers Marion and Harold Berner; sons Jackie Berner, Mark and Tommy Bergeron; daughter Linda Larson; son-in-law Tom Fishburn; grandson Paul Berner; granddaughter Mindy Perry; and great grandson Braden Berner.
Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2023, from 1-2 p.m., at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Newton Kansas. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service will follow at Walton Cemetery in Walton, Kansas.
