Ronald “Ron” L. Soller, Sr., 84, died on September 9, 2015 at the Via Christi St. Francis, Harry Hynes campus in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born on June 27, 1931 the son of Lorene (Byrne) and Albert Soller in Florence, Kansas.
Ron married Catherine “Kay” Carpenzano-Dikin on September 30, 1960 in Denver, CO. She died on August 3, 2006.
Ron entered the United States Air Force in 1950 and retired after 22 years of service. He retired from Hesston Corp/Hay and Forage in 1993 after 21 years of employment.
During his lifetime he was always busy. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his friends and family. If he was indoors, you would find him watching the Kansas City Chiefs, the KC Royals or game shows. He also loved to go to the casino, flea markets and auctions. Ron spent most mornings with his coffee group at McDonalds and Braums. He enjoyed meals with his family, either at their homes or at his son’s restaurant in Goessel, the Branding Iron Café. Family was important to him and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his wife, his parents and a sister-in-law, Mary Soller.
Survivors include a son, Ronald L. (Kyline) Soller, Jr., Newton; two daughters, Lorene V. (Billy) Stamps, Newton and Lisa M. (fiancé, Greg Jordan) Soller, Emporia; brother, Robert Dean Soller, Baltimore, MD; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home with the family greeting guests from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held in the chapel at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10:30 A.M.
Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence, Kansas.
