Roy Wayne Regier, “Rippin Roy” from Car Buddies, “Rolaids” from Ashley Franklin, “Bone Crusher” from Gordon Regier, died on May 22, 2014, at his home surrounded with loving family.
Roy was born October 26, 1956 to Vernon and Hilda (Woelk) in Newton, Kansas. Roy worked at Bunting Magnetics as an assembler for almost 30 years. He was an avid motor head. He loved to work on his car a 1938 Chevy Coupe. Every vacation he took from work was to work on the car of the house although, that was not Teri’s idea of a vacation. He loved his family and friends and held them close to his heart, even though he didn’t know how to show them. Teri (wife) and Mindy (niece) honored his wished of coming home and stayed by his bedside throughout his last week’s, giving him hourly meds and taking care of him 24 hours a day.
Teri & Mindy would like to say a huge THANK YOU, to his Good Shepard Hospice Team: Amanda Irving, RN, Teri Tull HHA, Bill Eichelberger, Chaplain, and Martha Szambecki SW and to all the others who came to help with visits.
Roy is preceded in death by his mother, Hilda(Woelk) Regier.
Survivors include wife, Teri Ann Regier, Newton; father, Vernon Regier, Hesston; sister, Joann (John) Rutledge, St. Louis, MO; brother Delbert (Wendy) Regier, Newton; daughter, Janee’ (Jason) Denney, Olathe, KS; four grandchildren, Jessalynn, Kyra, Sierra, and Malachi.; nephew, Brandon Franklin, Fort Walton Beach, FL; niece Ashley Franklin, Burlington, IA, niece, Mindy (Jason) Mathes and son Cody, Tonganoxie, KS.
Visitation will be at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, on Tuesday, May 27th, 2014 from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Chaplain Bill Eichelberger will be presiding.
Memorials may be made to the Center for Basic Cancer Research, KSU, in care of the funeral home at 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
