Ruby N. Morrison, 89, of Newton, died Friday (September 19, 2014) at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton.
She was born on August 16, 1925 in Newton, the daughter of Henry Allen and Harriet May Cowan Roadenbaugh, Sr. Ruby attended local schools. After graduating from Newton High School she went to work for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita. She married Francis Samuel Morrison on December 28, 1946 in Wichita.
After being married the Morrison’s lived in Wichita, Francis’ work in the aircraft industry took them to California where they lived for nearly 40 years until moving to Newton in the early 1990’s.
Ruby had been a sales clerk for Cornell Stationery in Chula Vista, California.
She enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, spending time visiting with her friends and eating her favorite sweets.
Survivors include her son Ralph Morrison of Las Vegas, Nevada; and grandson Paul Polyniak.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; husband Francis on June 28, 2003; and daughter Barbara Adkins on September 26, 2004; brothers Virgil A. Roadenbaugh, Henry A. Roadenbaugh, Jr., Raymond Roadenbaugh, Donald Roadenbaugh; sisters Betty Arlene Roadenbaugh, Geraldine M. Stout, Donna S. Norris.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday (September 23, 2014) at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 1pm til 5pm.
