Severo “Buzzy” Curiel Jr., 59, of Newton, died December 29, 2016 at his residence in Newton.
He was born to Matilda (Romero) and Severo Curiel Sr., April 2, 1957 in Newton.
He worked as a Blacksmith for Santa Fe Railroad for many years.
Buzzy loved The Beatles, was a Washington Redskins fan and KU basketball fan. He also had a love for motorcycles and fishing.
Severo also collected coins, enjoyed going to antique stores and gun shows.
He is survived by four daughters; Shanda Curiel, Las Angeles, CA, Stasia Curiel, Wichita, Alisha (C.J.) Werth, Manassas, VA, and Megan Pearce and fiancé Jamin Hadden Newton; parents, Matilda (Romero)and Severo Curiel Sr.; brothers, Anthony R. (Belinda) Curiel, Maize, Julian E. (Lynn)Curiel Sr., Newton, Robert S. (Sarah)Curiel, Valley Center; sisters, Gina Ackerman(John), Marianne (Darrel)Bonneau, Wichita; grandsons, Ethan Werth and Liam Hadden; Godson, Joseph Ackerman III.
Memorial Service will be held at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 2:30 p.m.
