Sherry L. Dreier, 65, died Tuesday (September 25, 2018) at the Newton Medical Center.
She was born on October 2, 1952 in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Alvin Carl and Joan D LaGree Dreier. Sherry graduated from Hesston High School in 1970.
She worked as a legal secretary for many years in Marion while raising her three children. She later moved back to Hesston and worked as an art therapy assistant for several years.
Sherry was an artist and enjoyed painting, quilting and gardening. She loved sharing these activities with her grandchildren and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her children Melissa Buffington and husband Phil of Andover, Ks., Rachel Helmer and huband Matt, and son Jerel Mulvenon all of Salida, Colo.; her mother Joan Dreier of Hesston; sisters Diane White and husband Virgil of Hesston, Teresa Boyts and husband Randy, and Lori Dreier and spouse Shelly Huffman all of Ft. Worth, Tex.; and six grandchildren Trey Buffington, Morgan Drow, Jaden Buffington, Olivia Helmer, Boyd Helmer, and Cyrenna Mulvenon.
Sherry is preceded in death by her father, Alvin.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday (September 29, 2018) at the Chapel of Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
A memorial has been established with the Arthritis Foundation and Caring Hands Humane Society. Contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, Ks. 67114.
