Thelma M. Umholtz

Thelma Marie (Dreier) Umholtz, 92, died on February 11, 2015 at Asbury Park in Newton, Kansas.

She was born on July 22, 1922, to Lulu Barbara (Vesper) and Louis Dreier in Newton, Kansas.

On January 17, 1954, she married Max E. Umholtz . Together, they farmed the homestead in Zimmerdale until 2002. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2007.

Thelma was a former secretary at Regier Title and Abstract in Newton, KS. She was an active member of the Nazarene Church for many years.
Survivors include a son, William (Nancy) Umholtz, Valley Center, KS; daughter, Gail (Joe) Leo, Lighthouse Point, FL; 3 grandchildren, Lacy (Zach) Lorenson, Ryan Clapp, Mindy Clapp; great grandchildren, Taylor Clapp, Ayla Lorenson and Willa Lorenson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Max; brothers, William “Bill” and Milford; sisters, Frieda Dreier and Esther Bulk.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with family greeting from 1:00 P.M.– 3:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at the First Nazarene Church in Newton on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. Reverend Charles West will be presiding.
Burial will be held at Eastlawn Cemetery in Zimmerdale, Kansas.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene or the Arthritis Foundation , in care of the funeral home at, 120 E . Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
