Verna Pearl Adrian (100) died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Asbury Park in Newton, Kansas.
She was born on September 18, 1912 in Buhler, KS to Jacob J. and Gertrude (Wiens) Adrian. Both preceded her in death.
After attending Pleasant Plain Elementary School, she continued her education at Halstead High School.
As a young lady, she witnessed her mother’s concern for lost souls and attended a Christian Revival. She felt her need of a Savior and committed her life to God and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church in Buhler, KS.
She enjoyed crocheting, tatting, cross stitching and embroidery.
Verna loved to walk in the flower garden and watch the butterflies and admire the various flowers. Her favorite flower was the Peach Rose.
Survivors include two sisters: Leona Rilling of Moundridge, Ruby Kasper, Newton and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by three brothers Jonathan, Milton and Otto and two sisters Rosella Crigger and Bertha Adrian.
Services will be at 10:00, Thursday (Dec. 27, 2012) at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerroll Martens of Meridian Baptist Church, officiating. Private interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Foundation in care of the Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.
