Vincent T. Gonzalez, 61, died on October 20th, 2016 at his home. He was born on October 19, 1955 in Newton, the son of Hope “Esperanza” (Terrones) and Raymond Gonzalez.
Vincent was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church of Newton, as well as the Madero Society.
He had many hobbies and interests during life, and was known as the family historian. Vincent loved music, especially the band Santana, and he also loved silver screen movies. He was a Bruce Lee fan, and a big fan of Marilyn Monroe, and loved trying to convince his family and friends that Big Foot exists.
Vincent liked to dance and was part of the original Azteca dance troop and was a big pet lover.
After 35 years of employment, Vincent retired from Spirit in 2011. He had also worked for the railroad for several years prior to that.
Preceding him in death were his parents Hope and Raymond Gonzalez and his dog, Baby T.
Survivors include his loving 4-leg companion, Chucka; four brothers, Robert (Janie) Gonzalez, Raymond V. Gonzalez, Gilbert T. Gonzalez (Leatha) and Ruben J. (Jamie) Gonzalez, all of Newton; one sister, Cecilia (Robert) Smith of Newton; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 26th from 1-5 PM.
Recitation of the Rosary will also be on Wednesday, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 6 PM.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 27th, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Juan Garza will be officiating.
Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Newton, KS.
Memorials may be made to the Caring Hands Humane Society or the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in care of the funeral home.
