Wesley T. Ratzlaff, 89, died on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Mennonite Manor in South Hutchinson, Kansas.
He was born on April 30, 1919 the son of Agnes (Unruh) and Adam S. Ratzlaff in Durham, Kansas.
Wesley enlisted in the United States Army during World War II, on July 16, 1941 at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. He was discharged on January 11, 1946 at Ft. Logan, Colorado as a Staff Seargent.
On May 28, 1943, he married Rosalene J. Forsberg in Seattle, Washington.
Wesley was a member of the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, the VFW , Post # 971 and the American Legion of Hutchinson.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalene, son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Becky Ratzlaff, Hutchinson; brother, Clinton Ratzlaff, Maxwell, IA; sister, Clara Wance, Hesston; 3 grandchildren, Danna McVey, Austin TX, Tiffany Ratzlaff, Hutchinson, Tannar Ratzlaff, Manhatten.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sandra K. Lay, 2 sisters, Hilda Mitchell and Frances Decker.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 26, 2008 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton, from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family greeting from 5:30 P.M.-6:30 P.M.
Memorial Services will be at the South Hutchinson Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson, Kansas on Monday, October 27th, at 2:00 P.M.
Burial will be held prior to the service at the Restlawn Garden of Memories in Newton, Kansas, on Monday, October 27th, 10:30 A.M.
Memorials may be made to the South Hutchinson Mennonite Manor or the Hospice of Reno County.
