Wilma "Coke" Smith

“Coke” Smith, 88, of Newton, died Saturday (November 26, 2016) at the Kansas Christian Home in Newton.

Wilma Colleen was born on February 5, 1928 in Burrton, Ks., the daughter of Dell and Mabel Kasenberg Roberts. She was raised in the Mt. Hope area, graduating from Mt. Hope High School.

She married Ralph M. Smith, Jr. on March 8, 1951 at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. After Ralph was discharged from the service they return to Newton in 1953.

For many years they owned and operated R M’s Auto Electric Shop in Newton.

“Coke” is survived by her husband Ralph of Newton; two sons Mickey Smith of Mesa, Az., and Mitchell Smith of Wichita, Ks.; three grandchildren Josh Smith, Carrie Smith and Daniel Smith; and five great grandchildren.

There will be no visitation or viewing as cremation has been effected.

Private inurnment services will be held at a later date at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Ft. Dodge, Ks.

Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
