Wilma Irene (Allen) Orpin, 79, died on Sunday, September 13, 2009 in Newton, Kansas.
She was born on August 19, 1930 in Newton, to Grover Cleveland and Alta Lena (Wisner) Allen.
She attended school in Peabody, Kansas. Wilma met her husband Jack B. Orpin while she was waitressing at the Walton Café. Jack and Wilma were married on March 11, 1958 in Newton. They raised their family and lived 51 years of marriage together on Ash Street in Newton.
Wilma was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, her flower gardens, garage sales, organizing picnics and family gatherings. Wilma also enjoyed spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; 3 brothers Wilbert Lee Allen, Melvin George Allen and Arthur Dewey Allen; 2 sisters Rosetta Marie (Allen) Brooks and Beatrice B. (Allen) Wentworth.
Survivors include her husband Jack Orpin, Newton; 3 daughters, Martha (James) Pajl, Yankton, South Dakota, Alice (Dale) Keazer, Osage City, Kansas and Elsie Waite, Newton; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Walter) Wilson, Matthew (Rachel) Pajl, Joseph Pajl, Jacquelyn Pajl, Rebecca (Darrel) Manning, Brandon Keazer & Lindsay Croucher, Heather Keazer, Kelly Keazer, Amber, Cheyenne and Shelby Waite; great-grandchildren, Decklyn and Preston Manning and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 17th, 2009 at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting visitors from 5:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September, 18th, 2009 at the funeral home at 2:00 P.M. Reverend Terry Tareila will be presiding.
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, Kansas.
